A hat channel, also known as a furring channel, is a steel channel that is used in construction to provide a framework. Hat channels are shaped like a hat, with a wide flat base and a narrow top. They are typically installed vertically or horizontally to create a framework that is attached to the wall or ceiling, and then drywall or other panels are attached to the framework using screws or nails.

Hat channels are available in 18 GA. These are not Cee structural purlins; it is a channel.

Metroll stocks standard lengths in hat channels. Our stock hat channels are 20 ft. long and come in 18 GA.
