Angle Up

Welcome to the Metroll safety blog. In this post, we're focusing on a key safety initiative – our reverse (back-in) parking policy, exclusively designed for our customers and vendors involved in pick-ups and deliveries. This practice is not just about maintaining safety; it's also about protecting the integrity of our products in the yard. Let's delve into how this policy benefits everyone involved.

Safety Procedures for Back-in Parking

A Safety Measure for Pick-Ups and Deliveries:

  • Minimizing Damage: Reverse parking significantly reduces the risk of accidental damage to panels and other products in our yard during the loading and unloading process.

  • Enhanced Visibility for Drivers: By parking in reverse, drivers have a clearer view when leaving, making it safer for everyone moving around the yard.

  • Efficient and Safe Loading/Unloading: This method facilitates easier and safer access to the cargo area of vehicles, streamlining the process for our customers and vendors.

Yard Safety: Must-Follow Rules

Heed Clear Signage and Lane Markings: Always be attentive to signage and follow lane markings within the yard. These are carefully placed to navigate you safely through the loading and offloading areas.

Utilize Designated Loading/Offloading Zones: Please load and offload goods exclusively in the areas marked for these purposes. This practice helps maintain order in the yard and reduces the likelihood of accidents.

No Children or Pets in the Loading Yard: For safety reasons, we strictly prohibit children and pets in the loading yard area.

Avoid Mobile Phone Use in Loading Zones: For your safety and that of others, please refrain from using your mobile phone while in the loading zones.

Securely Strap Bundles: Ensure that all bundles are securely strapped before moving them. This is crucial for safe transportation.

Stay Alert Around Forklifts and Machinery: Be aware of your surroundings and watch out for forklifts and other machinery operating in the area.

Keep Clear of Finished Product Racks: For your safety, avoid standing near or under finished product racks to prevent injury from potential falling objects.

No Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited in the yard to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Leave Material Handling to Metroll Staff: Please do not attempt to handle materials yourself. Our trained Metroll loaders are here to assist you.

Remain Inside Your Vehicle While Waiting: For your safety and orderly processing, wait inside your vehicle until it is your turn to be loaded.

Do Not Enter Production Areas: Please stay clear of the production premises to ensure both your safety and the smooth operation of our processes.

Use of Cut-Resistant Gloves Recommended: We advise wearing cut-resistant gloves when handling materials to avoid injuries.

These guidelines are in place to ensure your safety and the efficient operation of our loading and offloading processes. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
